PROJECT GRATITUDE DAY 61 I am thankful that I'm learning how to be more assertive and confident in my abilities as a teacher despite angry parents who call me at home and email me in the middle of the night and a bitter assistant who constantly questions my authority. I am thankful that I have a close working relationship with my boss, who supports every decision I make and encourages me every step of the way (and is working on hiring me a new assistant). And I am thankful for the little girl who ran over to me at recess today, hugged my legs, and exclaimed, "You're the best teacher I've ever had!!! I love you."
So sweet!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have always said the reason I would not choose to become a teacher is the behavior of the parents. Sounds like that little girl knows what's what, though, and that's the important thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by Emma's Lunch and leaving such a nice comment :)
ReplyDeleteI love your header by the way and that so cute that little girl running up to you and hugging your legs! It really made me smile :)

Scenes as you describe at the end of today's post validate why we choose to be educators even when times get tough. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteAwww that is so sweet. Do you watch the show The Middle? Last night's episode was hilarious and is similar to this post. You might want to check it out if you haven't already.
