I worship my slow cooker. Fifteen minutes of tossing ingredients in there at the start of the day, and voila, a few hours later dinner is ready. The aromas remind me throughout the day that I don't have to carve out an hour in the late afternoon to cook (while my children use that unsupervised hour to mishave). I have no idea why I don't use my slow cooker more frequently.
If you've never heard of Stephanie O'Dea and her personal challenge to use her slow cooker every day for a year, her blog and her challenge-inspired cookbook Make It Fast, Cook It Slow are worth a look. If she can use her slow cooker every day for an entire year, I can surely manage a week, right?
Normally I would ask you if have any slow cooker recipes for me to try this week, but being the incorrigible planner that I am, I've already made up my menu and completed my weekly commissary run. But I'm always up for new slow cooker recipes so if you have any please share!
